Expansion to Czech Republic & € 12 million investment in the group
The HIRSCH Servo Group is continuing to expand its European production network. Today the purchase of the Czech EPS and fiber casting processor Novopol, including its two production sites, was completed. "With this acquisition we are closing the gap in the middle of our production network and strengthening our position as the leading EPS processor in Europe", says HIRSCH Servo CEO Harald Kogler. "Novopol has been operating successfully on the market since 1992 and enriches our group of companies not only with one of the largest EPS packaging and fiber casting production facilities in the Czech Republic but also with the first mechanical EPS recycling plant in Europe. We are proud to count Novopol with its experienced 60 employees to our group of companies with immediate effect", Kogler continues.
"But we are also clearly committed to our roots and, despite Corona, are setting the course for the future by investing a total of € 12 million in the expansion of our group of companies in the current fiscal year, € 2.5 million of which will be invested in the Glanegg headquarters", Kogler said. "Specifically, we are developing and installing a new fibre casting production plant in Glanegg with our own machine construction department and are building an additional warehouse in order to be prepared for the growing demand for transport protection packaging made of 100% recycled cardboard".
With the two new plants in the Czech Republic and the existing 26 production facilities in Austria, Germany, France, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Ukraine, HIRSCH will in future employ around 1,600 people in nine countries.
