Dr. Georg Gorton
Georg Gorton, Lawyer
Chairman of the Supervisory Board

Georg Gorton was born in Klagenfurt in 1955, and received his Doctor of Laws from the University of Vienna in 1979. As a founding partner of the Gorton & Gorton law firm in Carinthia, he is frequently asked to develop efficient solutions for small and medium companies in the area of commercial law. After his studies in Austria, Gorton successfully completed a post-graduate program in European and international economic law in St. Gallen. He also attended a training program in Boston to prepare for his work as a business mediator. Georg Gorton is the author of numerous publications on the subject of competition law, and is the father of three children.

Michael M. F. Kaufmann was born in 1948 and studied business administration at the universities of Stuttgart and Erlangen-Nuremberg graduating in 1975. In the course of his career, the father of two children has held various managerial positions at Frantschach. It was while he chaired the Supervisory Board that the Kaufmann family’s remaining 30 percent stake in Frantschach was sold to Anglo American plc, a British/South African group, in 2004. Since 1985 Michael Kaufmann has also been chairman of FRAPAG Beteiligungsholding AG. The family-owned holding company has investments in industry, property and financial assets.

Gunter Nitsche
Prof. Gunter Nitsche, Institute of Austrian and International Business Law, Graz University
Member of the Supervisory Board

Gunter Nitsche was born in Graz in 1944 and got a law degree from Graz University. As a Fulbright scholar at Washington State University in America, he went on to gain a bachelor's degree in political science and then did his court year in the Graz Higher Regional Court's administrative district. Dr. Nitsche returned to Graz University as a member of the academic staff at the Institute of Business and Securities Law. He gained further qualifications to teach commercial, securities and civil law in 1981. In 1987 he was appointed professor of the Institute of Austrian and International Business Law at Graz University. He also spent some time as a visiting professor at Rutgers Law School in Camden, New Jersey. Since 1988 he has been a visiting professor at Graz University of Technology. Prof. Nitsche has written countless articles. His main expertise lies in the area of corporate law, competition law, trademark law and intellectual property rights. He is co-editor of the Manz edition of the Austrian Commercial Code (HGB). In addition, he is a legal advisor to trade, industry and banking, and holds professional seminars for lawyers, notaries public, judges and chartered accountants. He is on the board of various private foundations.

Dr. Andreas Breschan
Dr. Andreas Breschan, Chartered Accountant and Auditor
Member of the Supervisory Board

Andreas Breschan, who was born in 1961, studied law at Graz University. He has been working as an accountant since 1992 and as an auditor since 1998. In addition, he is also a publicly appointed and certified expert witness for legal matters. As the managing partner of Breschan und Partner Wirtschaftsprüfungs- und Steuerberatungs GmbH (member of BDO International), his work primarily focuses on corporate restructuring, auditing, advising on legal forms for organizations, consulting for public corporations and business valuations. Dr. Breschan is also a lecturer at the Institute of Corporate Finance and Taxation at Klagenfurt University and lectures at the Carinthian Government’s Administration Academy.
