The HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) system is a means of managing food safety and thus protecting consumers.
Since January 1, 2006 the EU's food hygiene legislation has been implemented, which stipulates that only food complying with HACCP guidelines may be traded in the Union and imported into the Union.
